Ann is a straight - A student. She is very active, not only in class, but also after school, helping her peers and teachers. She practices the flute 45 minutes a day. Generally she is a pleasant girl. But she grits her teeth at night and dreads dinnertime now that her troublemaker brother, Tom is back at home. He has just been expelled from boarding school. She avoided him from the moment their father brought him from train station in nearby town. But finally mother called them to dinner. Ann dragged her feet down the stairs. “Hello, teacher’s pet.” growled her brother. “Hello, troglodyte.” answered Ann in melodious innocent sing-song. “Jack, Ann, either you will be civil towards each other or you will be hungry. I won’t allow such behavior under my roof.” commanded Father. “Yes. Father” they both answered at the same time. Throughout the dinner none of them uttered a word. Ann fled to wash her teeth, next she grabbed flute-case and biked to her music teacher. Music gave her some respite from the dread of inevitable confrontation with her sibling. The lesson passed quickly. She could not postpone return home as it soon would be getting dark. Jack waited for her in the bike shed. She put back her bike and without a word turned her back on him. Suddenly vice-like grip closed on her wrist. “Not so fast you little rat.” he growled “I’ve finally puzzled it out. That day I had no weed. I had smoked it all a day before. But somehow they found it in my locker.” She tried to free her hand, but he was way too strong. “And you know what? Mike told me, You had bought 5 grams a week before the search, You who never ever smoked a joint. 5 grams was found in my locker. Coincidence? I do not think so.” Jack pulled her closer, his bad breath was nauseating. “I’ll make you pay for framing me. And I’ll enjoy it.”
